Special Considerations for Campbell Remodeling
The City of Campbell has embraced green building and is one of the Bay Area cities that is at the forefront of new building codes. We’ve found the best way to work with city planners is to start early, sharing ideas and initial plans. Since the city is upgrading sewer lines and their entire electrical infrastructure (moving above-ground power lines underground), many homeowners are tasked with including these elements as part of their remodeling project.
Additionally, Campbell considers any modification of 50% or more of the home to be a “new home.” As a result, you’ll need to add a fire sprinkler system, as well as adhere to their green building checklist and other building codes.
